Our Story
It started with one truck.
In 1987, Steve Relyea was 22, fresh out of SUNY Cobleskill, with one truck, a lawnmower and a promise to do the job right. He knocked on doors around the Hudson Valley, and one job turned into the next.
Over the years, Red Cedar grew into one of the area's most trusted landscape and hardscape companies. Along the way, clients kept asking us to build more: a deck off the back of the house, a pergola over the patio, a barn, a garage, even a full guest house.
Red Cedar Construction is the natural next step. Same owner, same experienced crews, same standards, now focused on the structures that make a property work. And Steve is still out on job sites, walking properties and making sure the plan matches what's actually on the ground.
